@INFLUENZA - New listserver on Influenza Information and Knowledge Sharing

Dear Colleagues:

We are glad to announce the inauguration of the @influenza e-list for the dissemination and exchange of information about Influenza in the Americas and in the world; and as a contribution to improve the access to information.

The list is moderated to update and maintain the quality, and relevance of the content.

This virtual space is proposed for learning and active participation. We invite you to share this space and to send us your suggestions and information.

Technical information about the list.

Who can send information and what information to send?
Any member can send information to be published in the list. The posting requires to be approved by the moderator.

The information to send should fulfill the following criteria:

- The content can include: studies, papers, documents, news, links, events and others.
- The content should NOT include: attached documents of any kind, information, messages, or personal documents that do not contribute to the dissemination of current and pertinent information
- The links should allow free access to full texts on the internet
- The information sent by means of links should be sent in its original language and cannot be translated, due to copyrights.

How to send information to the list?
Sending information to the list of @influenza is very simple. Please follow the following steps:
- Provide a title related to the information sent in the message. It is recommended that the title does not have more than 10 or 12 words
- Create the message in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or English with the pertinent information. Remember that the information can only be sent in its original language. The message that includes a link should describe the main points of the link’s content and can be 10 to 20 lines in length.
- The message should include, at the end, the following information: signature, name, post, and institution city, country, and e-mail
- Finally, send the message to influenza@listserv.paho.org

How to subscribe to the listserv?
Please go to http://listserv.paho.org/archives/Influenza.html
Upon entering for the first time, it is necessary to register your email address. PAHO will send you an e-mail to your electronic address to confirm the subscription. In this same link you can review the @INFLUENZA archives.

Who can be part of the list?
Anyone who is interested in the issues related to influenza.

How to subscribe someone to the list?
People interested should send an e-mail with the title "New Member" to influenza@listserv.paho.org Please include the name, institution, country, and e-mail address.

How can a person unsubscribe from the list?
People who want to unsubscribe should send a message to listserv@listserv.paho.org with the title "Unsubscribe to @influenza"

Información Técnica sobre la Lista

¿Quién envía información y qué información enviar?
Cualquier miembro puede enviar información para ser publicada en la lista. La información enviada debe ser aprobada por el moderador.
La información a enviar debe cumplir los siguientes criterios:
- El contenido puede incluir: estudios, documentos, noticias, enlaces, eventos y otros.
- El contenido NO debe incluir: documentos adjuntos de ningún tipo, información, mensajes o documentos personales
Los enlaces o links deben ser de acceso gratuito en Internet y permitir acceso a textos completos.
- La información enviada por medio de enlaces debe ser remitida en idioma original y no puede ser traducida, por razones de derechos de autor.

¿Cómo enviar información a la lista de @Influenza ?
Enviar información a la lista de Influenza es muy sencillo. Favor realizar los siguientes pasos:
- Otorgar un título pertinente a la información enviada en el mensaje. Se recomienda que el mismo no tenga más de 10 o 12 palabras
- Crear el mensaje en español, portugués, francés, o inglés con la información pertinente. Por favor enviar la información en el idioma original. El mensaje que informa sobre un contenido en link puede tener entre 10 y 20 líneas, debe resaltar lo importante y luego incluir el link
- El mensaje debe incluir al final los siguientes datos: firma, nombre, puesto e institución donde se desempeña ciudad, país y correo electrónico
- Finalmente enviar mensaje influenza@listserv.paho.org

¿Cómo suscribirse a la lista?
Por favor ir a http://listserv.paho.org/archives/influenza.html
Al entrar por primera vez, es necesario registrar su dirección electrónica. La OPS mandará un correo electrónico a su email para confirmar la suscripción.
En este mismo enlace podrá revisar los mensajes que han sido archivados.

¿Quiénes pueden ser parte de la lista de Influenza?
Todas las personas que están interesados en información relacionada con el tema de Influenza.

¿Cómo se puede incorporar a alguien en la lista?
Las personas interesadas deben mandar un correo electrónico con el título “Nuevo Miembro” a influenza@listserv.paho.org. Por favor incluir el nombre, la institución el país y la dirección electrónica.

¿Cómo puede una persona desafiliarse de la lista?
Las personas que quieran desafiliarse por favor mandar un mensaje a listserv@listserv.paho.org con el título “desafiliación a Influenza”
