Brisk US flu activity continues as COVID indicators drop further
The nation's flu activity remained elevated last week, with an increase in test positivity, as levels of two other respiratory viruses—COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)—continued their steady declines, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in updates today.

U.S. airport nasal swabbing expanding to Chicago and Miami
The nation's top public health agency is expanding a program that tests international travelers for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention program asks arriving international passengers to volunteer to have their noses swabbed and answer questions about their travel. The program operates at six airports and on Tuesday, the CDC said it was adding two more — Chicago’s O’Hare and Miami.

Except for flu, US respiratory virus levels continue to ebb
Respiratory virus activity in the United States loosened its grip more last week, as COVID-19 activity continues to decline and a few regions of the country fell below their baselines for flu, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in its updates today.
