Federal Resources
  • UDS Mapper
    • The UDS Mapper is designed to help inform users about the current geographic extent of U.S. federal (Section 330) Health Center Program (HCP) awardees and look-alikes, and was largely designed upon algorithms and reporting methods developed by John Snow, Inc. for BPHC-requested service area analyses. The information available in the UDS Mapper includes estimates of the collective service area of these health centers by ZCTA, including the ratio of HCP awardee and look-alike patients reported in the Uniform Data System (UDS) to the target population, the change in the number of those reported patients over time, and an estimate of those in the target population that remain unserved by HCP awardees and look-alikes reporting data to the UDS (but may be served by other providers).
    • Due to data limitations, this tool is meant to be only one of many important resources available for exploring the extent of health centers. To inform additional exploration, users can also map U.S. Census data and see the locations of all HCP awardees and look-alikes and their service delivery sites, locations of other federally-linked providers (NHSC Sites, Rural Health Clinics, Tribal Organization Facilities, etc.), and shortage areas such as Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/Ps).

      • Map Direct focus for viewing Brownfield data. The primary goals of the Brownfields Redevelopment Act are to reduce public health and environmental hazards on existing commercial and industrial sites that are abandoned or underused due to these hazards; create financial and regulatory incentives to encourage voluntary cleanup and redevelopment of sites; derive cleanup target levels and a process for obtaining a “No Further Action” letter using Risk-Based Corrective Action principles; and provide the opportunity for environmental equity and justice. Please view the Memorandum of Agreement between the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – Region 4 for complete information.
    • Florida Contamination Locator Map
      • Welcome to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Contamination Locator Map (CLM -“Clem”). By specifying an address, a city or a zip code, you can use CLM to locate nearby sites that are currently under DEP’s cleanup oversight. Using search criteria, CLM identifies sites by name, address, facility identification number, and cleanup status – active or pending. Although all sites in CLM are suspected or perceived to be contaminated, further investigation may show that some sites are not contaminated. Conversely, some contaminated sites that are still undergoing preliminary screening by the Department may not yet appear in CLM. Sites that are closed or are no longer under DEP’s cleanup oversight will not appear in CLM. Also, CLM may not include all information about federal facilities.
      • The CLM subscription service enables you to track cleanup milestones at contaminated sites listed in CLM.
        • To subscribe to this service, please select a contamination site in CLM, click on the “Watch this site” link and provide an e-mail address where requested in the new window.
        • You may subscribe to more than one site.
        • You will receive an e-mail notification when a contamination cleanup milestone event occurs at your selected sites.
      • Some of the sites in CLM are currently in the cleanup process and subscribers will be notified when the next milestone event occurs. Other sites are on a priority list awaiting cleanup funding so it may be some time before the first milestone event occurs. For more information on contamination cleanup, please see https://floridadep.gov/waste. For any other information about cleanup sites call the Waste Cleanup Site toll-free number at 1-866-282-0787. You may leave a message including the name and facility identification number for the site in question. Every effort will be made to return your call within 24 hours.

      • FGDL Information Page
      • The Florida Geographic Data Library (FGDL) is a collection of Geospatial Data, and serves as a mechanism for distributing spatial (GIS) data throughout the state of Florida. The FGDL is warehoused and maintained at the University of Florida’s GeoPlan Center, a GIS Research and Teaching Facility, with support from the Florida Department of Transportation. The GIS data available in FGDL is collected from various state, federal, and other agencies (“data sources”) who are data stewards, originators, producers, or publishers.
      • GeoPlan’s experienced analysts work with staff from the data origin to bring Florida spatial data into the FGDL library, follow good data management procedure, and guide data sharing within a framework for standardization. Ultimately, the FGDL serves as a data housing operation that provides a full spectrum of users with access to open source information. The FGDL therefore supports research and improves decision-making through many practices, throughout the state.
      • FGDL data categories are very diverse, and include land cover, hydrography, soils, environmental quality, conservation, transportation, and boundaries. In 1998, when the project was launched, the website consisted of 80 layers. The site currently contains over 600 layers and continues to expand into new disciplines and practices. FGDL has grown into an integral academic library for the College of Design, Construction, and Planning in the University of Florida and is a valuable resource for a variety of professions in the state of Florida.
