Public Health 1.0: Infectious Disease Prevention and Management

Public Health 1.0 in its simplest form arises from the popular health movement of the early to mid 19th Century to address the scourges of infectious diseases. Today infectious disease control, in spite of the overly optimistic prognostications of the 1960s that most infectious diseases would be eradicated by the end of the 20th Century, remains critically important -- especially in the developing world.
