U.S. A.I.D summary of its Vietnam health program

The Government of Vietnam (GVN) has made remarkable strides in improving the health of the country’s citizens. However, much remains to be done in the areas of HIV, tuberculosis (TB), and global health security. The U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) partners with the GVN to create inclusive health care systems to address long standing and emerging infectious disease threats, to ensure better health for the people of Vietnam.

South Korea will donate 1.6 million vaccine doses to Vietnam and Thailand.

South Korea plans to ship almost 1.6 million doses of AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine to Vietnam and Thailand this week, the foreign ministry announced Tuesday, as the Southeast Asian nations struggle to contain the spread of the virus.

The donation comes as South Korea’s vaccination program has accelerated rapidly, with 70 percent of the population expected to be inoculated by the end of the month.
